Friday Favorites (Oct 12, 18)

Fashionably Late.

I realize it’s Saturday… and this post is officially a day late, but what’s better than being fashionably late? (I’m, unfortunately, the queen of being late due to fashion reasons.)

This week, I want to highlight some of my favorite outifts and clothing pieces in my closet! Most of the pieces I have linked if you would like to purchase one for yourself, or see what else they have. Goodness knows I have enough clothing to never wear the same outfit twice.

img_7231Wilfred’s Chevalier Jacket from Artizia is one of my favorite, classiest pieces in my closet. It’s made from a soft Japanese crepe material which is lightweight, dressy and casual at the same time, and the two colors I have go with everything (The colors available are all very versatile.) I usually pair it with a more fitted piece underneath, since it is a looser fit jacket, so I usually wear fitted/skinny pants, a pencil skirt, or a fitted dress with this. I’ve never felt this material before, and that’s what made me fall in love with this jacket first. I pretty much go around touching everything in a clothing store, and if it’s super comfortable or soft, it makes it ten times more attractive to me. It’s a bit of an investment, but the quality is excellent and the versatility makes it easily worth it. Check the link out for all the colors/sizes they have now! They change the colors year to year, but the style has been there for a few years.

img_73651.jpgRoskiki Women’s Casual Striped Longsleeve Tunic in Brown (Leopard) is so adorable. Not too much animal print, the color block is so flattering, and it’s a soft stretchy material. super comfortable! Black and browns pretty much cover all the neutral tones, so this can be paired with almost any other color! Here I paired it with a lace designed skirt, leggings, and boots. This gives the sassy animal print a touch of feminine with the lace and leggings, then the boots to round out the more rugged style. I love this look! I wore a wrap necklace to help break up the color block on the shirt as well. The focus of this outfit is still that block of leopard print.

img_2672This Wrangler Aztec Cardigan/Coat I bought from Saba’s Western Wear in Scottsdale, AZ. As you might have already noticed, I love southwestern styles and designs. This is thick enough to be a coat, so it’s definitely more of a Fall/Winter piece. I love the colors on it, the length, and the weight of it. I wore it on the way back to Chicago from Scottsdale in December and it was perfect for the change in weather. I have no idea where you can find it now (Saba’s doesn’t have a website for clothing, and their clothing rotates all the time), but

img_0589(Just realized the last two outfits have the same top! I must really love that color!)  Probably one of the most expensive items I own, but this will last forever and is one of a kind! My Military Long Vest in Chocolate Distressed by Tribe America Leathers. Handmade by the owner right in the back of the shop in Scottsdale, AZ where they have all kinds of other their handmade leather goods. The edgy look to this piece makes it very versatile. I love how it’s a reddish brown, has good length, nice sized pockets, and is so well constructed. The back and sides have a cinch, and has the natural leather edges on the bottom. Fully lined, and the conch buttons look SO good, especially when it’s buttoned up. Check it out on their website through the link!

img_6471This is the first year I’ve ever tried kaftans, and boy, have I been missing out! This Dandelion Kaftan from Sseko Designs (Dandelion only available now as part of the Fall/Winter 2018 collection) is beyond beautiful! All handmade in Uganda and sales from Sseko pieces all go to creating new jobs and sending young women to college. I love how the kaftans are roomy, elegant, and comfortable enough to lounge in! The print and colors are beautiful and will complement all skin tones and body types! There are other prints available if you start browsing through the link.

For length concerns, I’m 5’4 and I can wear this without stepping all over it.

That’s all for this week!

I hope you enjoyed seeing some different styles and pieces from my closet. Most of the pieces are available through the links, so feel free to browse or get one for yourself! Let me know if you have any questions on sizing/fit.

Stay tuned for the weekend recap post on Monday! Thanks for reading!
