+ About Me +

Whoever said that running two direct sales business while holding a full-time corporate job was hard, was absolutely right. Sure it’s nice to have a little bit of cash on the side, but my side gigs are definitely not reliable streams of income. I do them because I love the products and culture, and it gave me platforms to share and connect with people outside of my immediate social circle. In the internet age, it’s nice and easy to find like-minded people to share your passions with, especially through social media.

So, a little about me, right? Well, I’m a Midwestern girl, born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago. My parents raised me to be hard-working, humble, grounded, and strong-minded. I have the fashion bug and “shop-aholism” from my mother, and the entrepreneurial, go-with-the-flow, and analytical brain from my father. So, naturally, I’d have a passion for the fashion business!

What’s in that brain, HW?

I’m an introvert, ISTJ, Tiger-Sagittarius (any other tests I should take? I LOVE personality assessment tests, they are always so accurate.. especially recognized ones)

I love my “me-time” and the company of very select people. I am very detail oriented and a perfectionist, which is extremely stressful sometimes. As I mentioned earlier, I’m very analytical. I like knowing how/what/why things happen. Uncertainty is not my friend. Oh, yeah, that definitely makes me a planner of all things. I also like to take existing things and make them better (to me), or just make them my own. Does that make me creative? It’s very difficult for me to come up with things from scratch, so I wouldn’t consider myself artistically creative. I can write really well on experiences, not creating stories. I can sketch really well, but it’s only of existing things I can picture, not figments of my imagination. I used to dance hip-hop in a college dance group, but that’s the thing, it was choreographed so I KNEW what I was supposed to do. (FREESTYLE, what do you mean!?) Throw me in a club’s dance circle and watch me do something silly and awkwardly slip away. Although, sporadically I will shake-it, but I couldn’t tell you when that happens. Maybe at friends’ weddings? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Anyways, bottom line is I don’t like uncertainty, I’m a perfectionist, and I like to plan out as much as I can in all aspects of my life.

Where’d you get all that dough?

HAHA Yeah, no, I am by no means rich, but I’m comfortable. I can definitely say my mindset plays a huge part in my current situation. For my day job, I’ve worked with the same company since 2015 and love having a corporate schedule (HELLO, WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAYS). I have a BA in Business (Marketing-Management) with a string of retail and customer service experience, so I have learned important interpersonal skills to use in all aspects of communication. I am a fast learner and always find the positive things in what I’m doing, so I haven’t actually had a job that I’ve been SO UNHAPPY with to say the words “I hate my job,” and I feel very fortunate to be able to admit that.
